Master Your Authority
21 Day Challenge
(Prepared for the Human Design Headquarters membership)
These prompts are from a challenge that was run live inside the HD HQ membership.
The prompts from the challenge are all listed here so that you can go through the challenge and connect with your authority at your own pace.
The prize for completing the challenge was only available to people who participated live.
Before you start the challenge:
Listen to the welcome audio by clicking here.
Read the quick summary of your authority by clicking here if you aren’t already familiar with your authority.
Decide where you’ll answer the daily challenge prompts. I recommend having a journal you use each day for this challenge. But you can also record your answers on your computer, a note on your phone, a series of voice notes, etc.
Challenge Prompts:
*** Week 1 - Decondition ***
Learn to identify and drop the conditioning you have that prevents you from connecting to your authority. Listen to the Week 1 audio and then dive into the Day 1 challenge prompt below!
Week 1 audio: click here to listen
Day 1 challenge prompt: What stories or beliefs do you have that tell you that you can’t (or shouldn’t) use your authority to make decisions?
Day 2 challenge prompt: How have the stories/beliefs you identified in Day 1 served you?
Day 3 challenge prompt: How have the stories/beliefs you identified in Day 1 hindered you?
Day 4 challenge prompt: As you go through your day today, make your goal to be mindful of every time the stories that you identified in Day 1 run through your mind. Make note of each time (keep a running tally - it’s okay if it’s a HUGE number!).
Day 5 challenge prompt: What do you stand to gain by releasing the stories/beliefs you identified in Day 1?
Day 6 challenge prompt: What do you need to believe, heal, or forgive in order to release the stories you identified in Day 1?
Day 7 challenge prompt: Why is NOW the time to release the stories you identified in Day 1?
*** Week 2 - Connect ***
Start to connect with your authority intentionally and powerfully so that you can hear its guidance. Listen to the Week 2 audio and then dive into the Day 8 challenge prompt below!
Week 2 audio: click here to listen
Day 8 challenge prompt: What does your authority sound like to you? What does it feel like in your body?
Day 9 challenge prompt: Under what conditions can you best hear/feel your authority? (When you’re alone? When you’re with others? When you journal/talk? When you meditate?)
Day 10 challenge prompt: What’s a quick and simple practice you can use throughout the day to check in with your authority? Look at your answer to yesterday’s prompt and create a super simple way for you to connect with your authority. (For example, can you pause throughout your day and ask your Sacral a yes/no question? Can you carry a notebook and do mini-journaling sessions throughout the day? Can you take 10 deep breaths throughout the day, then listen to what your Splenic intuition is telling you?)
Day 11 challenge prompt: You know what’s coming today, right? Yesterday you created a super simple way for you to check in with your authority. So today you get to put that into practice. Throughout the day today, use the practice you created to check in with your authority around all things big and small. You don’t have to HONOR what your authority says yet if it feels challenging to (especially around big things). We’re just practicing listening to it. Aim for at least 5 check-ins with your authority (set reminders on your phone if you need to). TIP: If you don’t know WHAT to check in with your authority about, you can ask simple questions like “What would feel good to do right now?” (This is great for all Projectors, Manifestors, and Reflectors.) or “Would it feel better to do X or Y right now?” (This is great for Sacral authorities or MG’s/G’s with an emotional authority.)
Day 12 challenge prompt: Reflecting back on yesterday’s exercise of checking in with your authority, is there anything you want to change about your check-in practice? If so, what would you like to change? If not, that’s great! Starting today (and for the rest of the challenge), check in with your authority frequently using this practice you created. I recommend aiming for at least 5x a day, if not more. It’s okay if you don’t ALWAYS get guidance. And it’s okay if sometimes the guidance is the same as the last few times you checked in. All we’re doing here is getting in the habit of making space to consciously listen to our authorities.
Day 13 challenge prompt: (Do your check-in practice throughout the day.) During one of your check-ins today, ask your authority what it needs from you in order to mend or strengthen your relationship with it. What’s the biggest thing that comes up for you? (If it’s nothing, that’s okay!)
Day 14 challenge prompt: (Do your check-in practice throughout the day.) Create a list of at least 5 reasons that you’re grateful for your authority.
*** Week 3 - Trust ***
Build a deep sense of trust in the guidance you receive from your authority so you can act on it and flow with your design. Listen to the Week 3 audio and then dive into the Day 15 challenge prompt below!
Week 2 audio: click here to listen
Day 15 challenge prompt: (Do your check-in practice throughout the day.) If you knew that all you had to do each day in order to have everything you desire was to listen to your authority and act on whatever guidance it gives you…how would you feel? What would you do differently?
Day 16 challenge prompt: (Do your check-in practice throughout the day.) Create a list of all the times in the past when you’ve listened to your authority (whether you knew that’s what you were doing or not at the time), and how each of those situations played out for you. The idea here is to build up a list that proves to yourself that things can work out for you when you listen to your authority.
Day 17 challenge prompt: (Do your check-in practice throughout the day.) As you do your check-in practice today, act on at least ONE piece of guidance you get from your authority. It’s okay - and even recommended - to start with something small. As you act on the guidance you receive from your authority, TRUST that it’s the right step!
Day 18 challenge prompt: (Do your check-in practice throughout the day.) As you do your check-in practice today, act on at least TWO pieces of guidance you get from your authority.
Day 19 challenge prompt: (Do your check-in practice throughout the day.) As you do your check-in practice today, act on at least THREE pieces of guidance you get from your authority. I recommend continuing to act on at least three pieces of guidance you get from your authority each day for the rest of the challenge (and increasing it to more and more over time after the challenge). But for the remaining 2 days of the challenge, we'll be focusing elsewhere.
Day 20 challenge prompt: (Do your check-in practice throughout the day.) Make a pledge to yourself/your authority. Use your authority to complete the following sentence (tweak the sentence as needed)! Moving forward, I promise to _______________ my authority.
Day 21 challenge prompt: (Do your check-in practice throughout the day.) You made it! This is the last day of the challenge! Reflect on these last 21 days and share a quick summary of your answers to the following questions: What has changed for you internally? What has changed for you externally? What realizations have you had? What do you want to change or do moving forward?
We've reached the end of the challenge! I'm so honored to have gotten to share this challenge with you. Going through this challenge was incredibly powerful for me and I hope it was for you too. If you want to share any wins or realizations you had while going through the challenge, head over to the #hd-chat thread in the Discord membership to do so!
